Mitsuwa is a producer of wheat flour and wheat related products in Japan. It officially started as a producer of Japanese noodles in 1913 at its first factory in Himeji, a city just West of Kobe. After the Second World War in 1945, it terminated the production of Japanese noodles and started a wheat flour milling factory in the same location. In 1975, Mitsuwa closed its production facilities in Himeji and moved their factory to the present location in Kobe. Its new wheat flour milling factory produced flour for the noodle and general baking industries while continuing to produce wheat bran. Mitsuwa also owns two subsidiaries, a wheat flour mixing company (Mitsuwa Foods) and another which produces frozen pizzas (Pasta Road). Since 2002, it has become a producer of several healthy by-products of wheat production such as wheat germ, GABA germ, and fine ground bran. In 2003, Mitsuwa company obtained ISO 9001 certification. And most recently in 2005, a modern laboratory with the latest equipment has been completed for the research and development of new products in addition to conducting analytic tests to inspect the quality of wheat and wheat flour.
